How does the trend line of success looks like?

Sometimes it is easier to see success on a graph – visually it should like a zigzag of ups and downs in an upward direction. Unfortunately for some, it may be a zigzag but in the wrong direction. So, strategically, what would you do first to reverse a downward or flat trend?  This applies not only to business but also to the career path of most people. He holds a master's degree in International Business and is ABD in a doctoral management program on Management Theory & Practice. He is also fluent in Spanish. And his alma mater is Northern Arizona University.
