How do you know when you are valued?

A famous violinist decided to play for 45 minutes at a subway – unannounced and with a basket for tips. No one stop nor recognized him and he got a total of $20 in tips. The following day – the violinist played in a theatre where people paid $100 per ticket to see him perform. Moral of the story – if you want to be valued and paid accordingly – change the environment. Do you agree?
